Thanks to Pete and crew for stepping in last minute to help put together a Christmasy show!
Down The Back Lane was originally formed in 2008 as a last minute addition to provide more Irish entertainment at the Cheyenne Celtic Festival. The lineup has changed through the years, but is anchored by Pete Strickler on tenor banjo, Dirk Mewes on uilleann pipes, and Kevin Rumery on bouzouki, guitar, and vocals. Joining them at the Mercury Cafe will be Lisa Yowell on Flute. Pete founded the very popular Portal Irish Music Week, an immersive camp that happens in New Mexico every September. As well as being a player, Dirk is also a respected maker of uilleann pipes at his workshop in Berthoud. Kevin is a long time session player in the area, having started out at an Irish session at The James in Boulder in the 80’s. And Lisa is an experienced flute player who spends much of her time in Ireland, both studying the craft and playing.

Sadly Kevin was unable to play due to being a bit under the weather that night, but he was there in spirit
